The personalized shopping bag is a flexible container with handles, designed for carrying bulky or lightweight items, reusable and intended to receive visible advertising markings, applied on one or two sides. It comes in several technical materials: cotton (140 to 310 g/m²), laminated jute canvas, non-woven PP (80 to 120 g/m²), 210D polyester, RPET or polycotton, depending on the expected use, budget, and desired visual effect. The most common standard size is 38 × 42 cm for a flat bag without gusset, with two handles of 60 to 70 cm sewn crosswise, allowing shoulder carrying. Versions with side or bottom gussets (10 to 20 cm) allow a useful volume of 10 to 25 liters, with a height generally between 35 and 45 cm. The handles can be made of twisted cotton, polyester ribbon, jute rope, reinforced strap or matching material, sewn on the top of the body or directly on the inner hem.

Marking is done by screen printing (1 to 6 direct colors), transfer (digital quadrichromy), embroidery (rarer) or sublimation printing (only on white polyester), on a standard surface ranging from 25 × 25 cm to 30 × 30 cm depending on the bag's geometry. On cotton or thick canvas, the ink must be sufficiently covering, with thermal drying and washing resistance. On non-woven or polyester, the adhesion quality depends on the surface treatment, the print having to withstand friction, moisture, and repeated folding. Some models are 100% recycled (notably in RPET), with a woven or printed label attesting to the origin material, and an equivalent marking area. The bottom can be reinforced by removable or integrated cardboard, sewn between two layers. The empty weight of the bag ranges between 40 and 180 g depending on the material, with a load capacity ranging from 6 to 15 kg depending on the fabric density and type of stitching (single, double or cross).

Packaging is done folded, flat, in individual bags (optional) or in boxes of 100 to 250 units. Quality tests focus on the seam strength after 200 carrying cycles, dimensional stability after cold washing (for cotton), handle strength under tension (up to 20 kg suspended load), and the clarity of the marking after 50 complete folds. A poor-quality bag often has off-center seams, too thin material, handles that stretch or come unstitched, poorly positioned or erasable marking. A good personalized shopping bag is recognized by its hold once filled, its resistance to repeated use, the quality of its finish (hem, angles, regular texture), the balance of its proportions and a clear, centered marking, well integrated into the fabric surface, without ink migration, overflow, or loss of readability after prolonged use.
