Promotional and custom helium balloon

The custom helium event balloon is an inflatable visual medium designed to float high during a trade show, product launch, or visibility operation both outdoors and indoors. Made of biodegradable natural latex or metallized polyamide plastic (Mylar), it is designed to retain helium for a variable duration depending on the material, diameter, and environment. Latex allows short-term inflation (6 to 12 hours on average), while Mylar balloons maintain their lift for 3 to 5 days. The standard diameter for advertising balloons is 25 to 30 cm for latex, up to 45 cm for Mylar, with classic shapes (round, hearts, stars, spherical) or custom-made (letters, objects, cut-out logos).

Customization is done by screen printing 1 to 2 colors on one or two faces for latex models, on a surface of about 100 to 120 mm in diameter. On Mylar balloons, printing can be in offset quadri with protective varnish, or by high-definition digital transfer. The logo must be centered, contrasted, and positioned at a distance from the neck or peripheral seam to ensure optimal readability once the balloon is inflated. The marking must account for deformation due to inflation and be calibrated not to crack at maximum tension. The balloon is equipped with a welded neck (latex) or a self-sealing valve (Mylar) for quick and leak-free inflation, compatible with a standard helium bottle nozzle.

Anchoring is done by plastic rod (for hand-held display), curling ribbon with weight (for ground placement), or cord fixed to a structure (for high floating). The choice of ballast is critical: a 30 cm latex balloon requires about 0.014 m³ of helium and a weight of at least 8 g to remain stable without flying away. Quality tests focus on the durability of the marking after inflation, burst resistance (tested at 150% of the nominal diameter), valve tightness (zero leakage for 12 h), and latex stability in light and heat (no sticking or cracking).

Packaging is in grouped bags, in cartons of 100 or 250 units, flat, with or without accessories (rods, ribbons, valves). A poor balloon features blurry markings, high porosity, shape variation upon inflation, or an ineffective valve. A good custom event balloon, on the other hand, floats upright, visible from afar, maintains the clarity of visuals, captures attention effortlessly, and allows vertical space occupation without heavy infrastructure, while offering clear, playful, and immediately recognizable brand identification.
