The custom charger is an electrical device designed to transfer energy to compatible electronic devices – smartphones, tablets, headphones, or connected objects – via a wired or wireless interface, while offering a dedicated surface for advertising marking, usually located on the top or side of the casing. There are two main families: wired chargers with USB outputs (type A, C, or mixed) and wireless induction chargers (Qi standard). Each model includes a regulated electronic board, a protective casing in ABS or anodized aluminum, one or more output ports, and often a LED operation indicator. The power delivered varies according to usage: from 5 W (basic charging) to 10 or 15 W for fast induction, up to 20 to 65 W for USB-C wired chargers compatible with Power Delivery (PD) or Quick Charge (QC 3.0).

The most common format for a customizable charger is a square or disc of 60 to 90 mm side or diameter, with a thickness of 8 to 20 mm. Wireless models feature a flat top surface (often rubberized to prevent the device from slipping) that allows customization by pad printing, UV printing, or laser engraving on metal, on a usable area of 40 to 60 mm. Wired models, on the other hand, allow marking on the front or back of the casing, sometimes also on the cable if integrated. The input is via USB or direct mains plug (EU type), and the output can be single or multiple: USB-A, USB-C, or a combination of both. The energy efficiency averages 80 to 90% for wired models, slightly less for inductive ones.

The materials used for the casing are generally injection-molded plastic with a matte or glossy finish, anodized metal for high-end versions, or compressed bamboo for eco-designed versions. The customization must be positioned outside the ventilation areas, light indicators, and ports, without covering the regulatory markings (CE, RoHS, WEEE) which must remain visible. Quality tests include voltage stability (5 V ± 0.25 for USB-A, 9 to 20 V for PD), no overheating after 2 hours of continuous use, compatibility with different devices, cable strength (resistance to 3 kg of traction and 1000 bends), and precision of coil alignment for wireless models.

Packaging is done in individual cardboard boxes, with or without a provided cable (generally USB to micro-USB or USB-C), multilingual manual, and compliance label. A bad charger shows typical defects: internal rattling, irregular plastic finish, poorly centered logo or one that fades, unstable ports, or long detection delay. A good custom charger features a solid body, reliable connectivity, clean, neat, stable marking, resistant to friction and heat, perfectly integrated into the product's geometry without hindering its use or compromising electrical safety.
