The personalized tissue paper relies on a precise balance between immediate practicality, perceived hygiene, and readability of the marking, focused on a flexible and reduced packaging. The marking is not applied directly to the paper — too fragile, too absorbent — but on the plastic pouch, usually made of flexible polypropylene (PP), sometimes in coated paper for eco-designed versions. Personalization is done in four-color process on an adhesive label or through direct printing, with an exploitable surface of approximately 45 × 65 mm on the main face of the pack. The standard format contains 10 folded tissues, in 2 or 3 layers, measuring unfolded 210 × 210 mm or 205 × 205 mm depending on the manufacturers. The tissues themselves are made of pure cellulose wadding, sometimes bleached without chlorine, with an average weight of 15 to 17 g/m² per layer. The pouch closes with a repositionable adhesive strip, usually placed on the top side, above the first visible fold. The personalized marking must remain readable despite rubbing in bags or pockets, condensation in humid environments, and frequent handling of the packet. The print must withstand without ink transfer, smudging, or discoloration, even when in contact with sweaty or greasy hands. High-end models may offer a pouch in kraft paper or compostable bioplastic, with rounded corners and a sliding flap closure system. Some manufacturers offer a discreet lateral pre-cut for a cleaner opening, without tearing the top of the packet. The thickness of the tissues, their absorbency, and their softness depend directly on the quality of the wadding and the embossing technique used (point-to-point or honeycomb embossing). Three-ply tissues are bulkier but less numerous per pack (8 to 9 instead of 10). The texture of the paper, visible to the naked eye, must be regular, without apparent fiber or residual glue particles. Packaging is often in cartons of 100, 200, or 400 packets, with cellophane wrapping or under transparent plastic film. In the advertising context, the personalized tissue is distributed in bulk, in fairs, waiting rooms, transit areas, welcome pockets, often inserted in a tote bag or on a display. The print must therefore be calibrated to catch the eye on a very limited surface, while keeping a clear reading of the logo and any mentions. The adherence of the label (if used) depends on the curvature of the packet and the storage temperature: a poorly stored packet (too humid, too hot) may show detachment at the marking, affecting the presentation. A poor product is immediately noticeable by a film too thin that punctures, a poorly centered opening that tears the first tissue, or a coarse wadding that irritates from the first use. A good product, on the other hand, opens with a clean gesture, closes correctly, delivers a soft tissue, folded without creases, and keeps the printed visual legible until the end of the pack.
