Promotional and custom condom

The customized condom is a standardized product, governed by strict health obligations, where only the packaging unit is customizable — never the condom itself. Marking is done exclusively on the individual packaging, called a sachet or blister, generally made of laminated aluminum or heat-sealed polyfoil, in a square 52 × 52 mm or round Ø 52 mm format. Printing is done in four-color process or monochrome, by flexography or offset printing on film, with inks suitable for indirect contact. The customized visual, generally centered, must respect a technical margin of 2 to 3 mm around the perimeter to avoid any overflow at the cut and preserve the sealing area. The condom itself is made of natural latex, polyisoprene, or polyurethane, with a standard length of 180 mm, nominal diameter of 52 to 56 mm, lubricated or not, with reservoir or texture depending on the manufacturer's options. The product is classified as a class IIb medical device (directive 93/42/EEC), CE0120 or ISO 4074 certified, each batch must be accompanied by its compliance documents (leakage tests, longitudinal and radial strength, accelerated aging, etc.). The expiration date, batch number, and reference must appear clearly on each blister, even after customization. The personalized print should neither obscure this information nor hinder the manufacturer's readability. Advertising marking is often humorous, activist, event-related, or linked to awareness campaigns, but remains subject to legal validation if the condom is distributed free of charge in a public or associative context. The secondary packaging (box or cardboard sachet) can also be customized, in four-color printing or gilding, with a setting for 1 to 5 units depending on the models. The unit weight, including the blister, is about 6 to 8 grams. Storage must be done away from humidity, between 5 and 25 °C, without prolonged exposure to direct light. The printed surface can receive a matte or glossy lamination to improve abrasion resistance, but any finish must be compatible with the heat sealing of the blisters, at the risk of compromising the seal. Mass customization involves minimum order quantities (often 500 to 1000 units), with an average production time of 15 to 20 working days, after BAT validation. A misaligned blister, too dense ink, or a registration defect can lead to batch rejection, loss of seal, or non-compliance with CE standards. A good customized condom is recognized by the balance between message readability, print cleanliness, packaging integrity, and full compliance with health standards. Any technical approximation, even minimal, exposes major legal and health risks.
