The personalized weather station is a standalone electronic device designed for displaying real-time climate data, such as temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and sometimes lunar phases or weather trends. This product, intended for home or professional use, consists of a main unit, one or more internal and external sensors, and a display screen – usually LCD – with possible customization on the frame, base, or front panel. The format varies according to the models: from 9 × 6 cm for compact versions to 20 × 14 cm for multifunction desktop stations, with a depth between 2 and 4 cm. The usable advertising marking surface depends on the design, but is most often located below the screen or on a smooth area of the base, about 60 × 20 mm to 100 × 30 mm. The printing is done by pad printing, laser engraving, or direct UV printing, depending on the material (ABS, soft-touch plastic, brushed aluminum, or bamboo).
The station operates on batteries (AAA or AA) or via USB power, with a segment display, backlit or not, showing indoor and outdoor temperature (by radio or wired sensor), with a typical measurement range of -20 to +50 °C and an accuracy of ±1 °C. Advanced models include a hygrometer (range 20–95 % RH), DCF77 radio-controlled clock, alarm clock, time display in 12/24 h format, animated weather icons (sunny, cloudy, rainy, etc.) or daily min/max recording. The outdoor sensor operates at a frequency of 433 MHz or 868 MHz, with a range of 30 to 50 meters in open field, powered by button cell or LR03, and can be fixed with screws or double-sided adhesive. Some models integrate multiple channels (up to 3 probes) and allow simultaneous display of multiple zones.
The main unit can be placed flat or upright via an integrated stand, and can be magnetized or wall-mounted. The screen is readable at over 1.5 m, with high contrast and wide viewing angles (up to 160° on some VA screens). The personalized marking should not obstruct data reading or encroach on integrated pictograms. The quality test includes measurement accuracy, transmission stability, screen readability under various lighting conditions, marking durability after wet cleaning, and scratch or impact resistance on the printed area. Some models are delivered in a customizable individual box with a window, others in bulk with a multilingual manual included. A poor product often shows a probe that loses signal, random time synchronization, a screen that is hard to read in backlight, or a poorly positioned or erasable advertising logo. In contrast, a good personalized weather station offers smooth and accurate reading, stable connection between sensors, a neat finish, simple ergonomics, and well-integrated, clear, and durable marking, without alteration after real use or prolonged indoor exposure.
