Marking techniques

The methods of marking on customizable object in detail!

Published on 11/12/2017

Screen printing

screen printing

This printing technique, invented by the Chinese, was a great success, especially with Andy Warhol who used this process a lot. It consists of depositing ink through a silk or nylon screen that lets the ink pass through depending on the shape of your logo or the image to be reproduced. This technique works  with flat supports such as textile, luggage. It also works for circular objects such as pens (this is called rotary screen printing).

Pad printing

Pad printing

This printing technique is the most used for marking objects. It is based on rubber stamp technology. Your logo, text or image are reproduced in the hollow of a cliché by chemical photoengraving. They are then transferred to your objects via a rubber pad. It is possible to print from 1 to 6 colors or four-color with pad marking.

Embroidery

Embroidery

This personalization process is used for textile marking. It consists of reproducing your logo, text or image with an embroidery machine that can use up to 12 different colors (12 heads and therefore 12 threads). Beforehand, your visual is digitized and converted into a readable format that can be controlled by the electronic embroiderer.

Laser Engraving

Laser Engraving

This is a laser beam that deeply engraves your article. This is a rather discreet and unalterable marking. We recommend it for metal and wood objects and for (fleece) textiles

Doming

Doming

It is a sticker printed in digital four-color process covered with a transparent epoxy resin of protection. This marking technique is used for expensive high-tech products such as televisions, DVD players, etc.

PVC patch

PVC patch

It is a PVC label that is sewn or heat-bonded onto your substrate. It is used in particular for textiles and fleeces in particular.

Ecusson

Ecusson

It is an embroidered and/or woven label that is sewn or heat-glued to your support. It is used for textiles and especially for jackets, sweaters and jackets (school uniforms for example)

Sublimation

Sublimation

Digital sublimation makes it possible to print clear textile articles (preferably white) in polyester and flat objects treated with a polyester varnish.
Your logo is printed on sublimation-specific transfer paper. With a hot press, under the effect of heat and pressure, the ink gasifies and penetrates directly into the mesh of the textile or polyester varnish. Advantages of the
marking: as it is directly embedded in the material, the printing does not modify the feel of the product. High resistance to machine washes (laundry or dishes).

Hot stamping

Hot stamping

A punch (iron) is hot pressed on the material and marks it with a hollow impression (inverted relief). This technique is mainly used in leather goods on leather or imitation leather goods.

Screen transfer

Screen transfer

This is a hot stamping using a press. It's a bit like a decal. This personalization technique makes it possible to reproduce photos and four-color processes on textiles, preferably clear.
