The personalized Christmas bauble is a spherical decorative object designed to be hung on a tree, a shop window, or a festive arrangement space, with a rounded surface that allows the placement of a logo or a visual on a defined diameter, respecting the technical constraints related to shape, reflections, and material. Made primarily from injected ABS plastic, blown polystyrene, mouth-blown glass, or, more rarely, stamped metal, it generally measures 60 to 100 mm in diameter and weighs 10 to 30 g, with an attachment fixed at the top, composed of a gold or silver metallic tip and a textile thread or a satin ribbon for hanging. Standard models are smooth and plain, but there are matte, glossy, glittery, frosted, or mirror-effect variations, sometimes even translucent or semi-open to contain an insert.
Personalization is carried out by 1 to 2 color pad printing, direct UV digital printing on matte plastic, or rotary screen printing for metal models. For matte or satin balls, the print offers excellent contrast; for glossy or chrome finishes, an anti-static treatment and framing of the marking are often necessary to avoid smudging. The usable marking area is horizontally centered on the equator of the sphere, on a visual disk about 30 to 40 mm in diameter, smoothed to allow even printing. Some models incorporate a transparent cavity in which a personalized card can be inserted or flocking can be applied.
Standard packaging is done in white single-unit cardboard boxes, printed boxes with a window, or alveolar cushioning cases, with or without marking on the packaging. Glass balls are cushioned in foam or alveolar cardboard cells, while plastic models can be packed in bulk (with protective film) or in batches in thermoformed trays. Quality tests include the resistance of the marking to dry scratches (pocket, nail, cloth), the attachment's resistance to traction (1.5 kg), the coating's uniformity, chromatic stability under LED lighting, and the ball's ability to remain perfectly spherical without visible mold markings.
A poorly designed ball often presents an off-center marking, a reflection that hinders readability, a poorly crimped attachment, or a glitter film that flakes off. A good personalized Christmas bauble, on the other hand, offers a clean surface, a clear, centered, durable logo, visible without thickness, while maintaining the balance between decorative finesse and visual impact. It installs easily, integrates into a coherent visual ensemble, and conveys a strong brand image, in a festive but technically rigorous support.
