Ecological, practical, and customizable, the promotional cup has become an essential communication tool for committed brands and professional events.

The custom cup stands out due to its direct, tactile use, often repeated, and its ability to convey a message from the first visual contact. It can be made of reusable plastic, injected polypropylene, compostable PLA, coated cardboard, stainless steel, tempered glass, or pressed bamboo fiber, depending on the intended use – one-time event, mass distribution, fast food, or durable reuse. The most common capacities range from 12 cl for an espresso to 50 cl for a cold drink cup, with intermediate variants – 25 cl, 30 cl, 40 cl – corresponding to specific standards. The diameter, height, usable volume, and calibration are tailored according to standardized formats, often linked to machines or dosing systems. Printing is done in screen printing, four-color process, pad printing, or digital transfer, depending on the material and complexity of the visual: a simple logo, a panoramic design, a well-defined marking area on one side. The promotional cup must combine maximum visibility and immediate readability, even when it is filled. Some models include a reserved white area for writing with an erasable marker, widely used in festivals or educational settings. The choice of background – translucent, frosted, opaque, matte, glossy – directly affects the way the marking stands out.

Unlike other printed media, the cup is handled, filled, sometimes washed at high temperatures, and even stacked by the hundreds. It must therefore withstand wear, scratches, thermal shocks, food solvents, without the print fading. The adjustment of graphic elements is essential: a poorly centered or too small logo gets lost, a poorly cut design gives an impression of negligence. Some models come with a lid, integrated straw, or seal, others are designed to be collected and reused thanks to a deposit system, with batch numbers engraved and traceability scale.

The environmental aspect is becoming central: the choice between single-use and reuse must be considered upstream, depending on the location, audience, and logistical constraints. Some clients demand a bio-based material or marking with solvent-free vegetable inks. Others want stackable cups without snags, delivered wrapped, vacuum-sealed, in sets of 50 or 100. The item can be neutral or, on the contrary, heavily graphically charged, but its form remains faithful to a purpose: easy to hold, drink from easily, not leak, and not deform under pressure. The base must be stable, the rim comfortable to the mouth. The weight of the cup is also a criterion: too light, it seems fragile; too heavy, it appears oversized. It can be kept as a souvenir, reused daily, or collected at the end of an event.
In any case, it becomes a medium with very high visibility, as it passes from hand to hand, is displayed in groups, and is photographed. Its effectiveness relies on a perfect match between material, format, use, readability, and graphic coherence.
