The custom short-sleeve t-shirt is one of the most widespread textile media, but also one of the most sensitive to quality execution: cut, fabric, neckline, marking stability, and choice of visual must align without tolerance, as the slightest imperfection becomes immediately visible to the eye or when worn. Made from combed cotton, semi-combed jersey, or polyester depending on the use (everyday, event-based, technical), it must offer a smooth, stable, and sufficiently dense surface to maintain the visual over time without distortion. The weight plays a central role: around 150 g/m² for a lightweight, widely distributed t-shirt, between 160 and 190 g/m² for a good comfort-stability compromise, and up to 200-220 g/m² for a high-end, more structured version. The straight cut remains the most versatile, but fitted, tubular, or side-seam models influence the stability of the textile in printing. The neckline, often round with an elastane ribbed edge, must retain its shape even after several washes: a collar that warps or stretches devalues the entire garment. The marking, whether screen-printed, transferred, or direct digital print (DTG), must be precisely positioned: a poorly centered or too low print on the chest unbalances the visual; too close to the collar, it hinders readability. The custom promotional t-shirt offers several printing areas: chest, back, sleeve, or even inside tag for a more discreet brand effect. Each position imposes constraints: the sleeve requires a rigid support for printing, the back demands good fabric tension to avoid creases. Organic or recycled cotton, increasingly used, sometimes presents an irregular texture that affects the rendering of fine visuals and requires specific inking adjustments. The durability of the marking against 40 °C washes, ironing, and mild detergents is a fundamental criterion: a visual that cracks or fades conveys an image of poor quality, even if the textile holds perfectly. Finally, the finishes – double stitching on sleeve and body hems, cleanliness strip on the neckline, absence of tag or personalized tag – contribute to the overall experience and enhance the perception of care given to the product. The custom short-sleeve t-shirt, seemingly simple, actually requires complete mastery of the textile and graphic chain to become what it claims to be: an everyday garment, stable, visible, that speaks for the brand without ever betraying the wearer.
